Andrew Barkham

I cook modern, produce-driven food where simplicity does the heavy lifting.

I’m a professional chef with over 20 years of experience, from Michelin-star kitchens to Australia’s top venues. My work has taken me across London, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and even Iraq, and I’ve been shaped by some incredible mentors along the way, including the late Gary Rhodes, Andrew McConnell, and Ross Lusted.

I recently moved to Perth, where I was the Executive Chef at QT Hotel, and I now work as a New Product Development Chef. No matter the setting, I focus on clean execution, thoughtful seasoning, and food that feels exciting but never overcomplicated.

I believe in simplicity—find the key flavors and elevate them.

What you can expect when you dine with me

I keep it fun, approachable, and delicious

Cooking is fun and enjoyable for me—especially when I’m cooking with my four-year-old daughter—and I bring that same relaxed confidence to every service while still delivering sharp, professional results.

I bring world-class training and leadership

I learned my craft through kitchens like Rhodes 24 in London, The Bridge Room in Sydney, and venues across Melbourne including Supernormal, Cumulus, Cutler & Co, and Builders Arms Hotel. I later led the kitchen as Executive Chef at QT Hotel in Perth, and that mix of mentorship and leadership shapes how I cook today.

I elevate simplicity with precision

My “secret” in the kitchen is simplicity: I focus on key flavors, treat ingredients with respect, and elevate them through technique, balance, and clean presentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are my rates for private chef services in Australia?

I build every menu from scratch, so what you pay depends on the dishes, how many guests, and the kind of service you want. Most of my dinners come to around 158 AUD, and I'll always work with the budget you have in mind. Send me a message and I'll put together a proposal for your event.

What kind of food do I specialize in?

I cook Chef's special, Mediterranean, Italian, French and Local. I build my menus around ingredients that are in season and bought locally, because that's where the flavor is. And if anyone at your table has a dietary restriction, just tell me and I'll adjust the dishes so no one misses out.

How can you book my private chef services in Australia?

To book me in Australia, click the Book Now button on this page and follow the steps. You'll add your event date, guest count, and any dietary restrictions as you go. Once your request comes through, I read it myself and reply with a menu proposal and the dates I have open.

Do I provide private chef services for events or special occasions?

Yes. I regularly cook for Birthday, Family reunion, Friends gathering, Corporate and Foodie adventure. I handle the menu, the timing, and the setup so the meal fits the kind of event you're throwing. Send me your date and I'll check whether I'm free.

Can the menus accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Choose a menu, share your event details, and the Private Chef Manager team will help confirm the experience with the chef.
